Funded Account vs. Elite Account
What is the difference between a Funded Account and an Elite Account?
A Funded Account operates with simulated capital under realistic market conditions. Traders are rewarded with a share of the profits they generate based on their performance.
An Elite Account, on the other hand, is an account with real capital that is traded directly in the live market.
How do I get an Elite Account?
Our risk team continuously monitors the performance of all traders and decides when a trader is ready for an Elite Account.
An Elite transition may occur, among other things, if:
outstanding performance is achieved in simulated funding
the maximum performance reward of $25,000 per account is reached
a trader has previously been assigned Elite status
What happens during an Elite transition?
When a trader receives an Elite Account:
all active Funded Accounts are deactivated
accounts with at least one performance reward are considered for the Elite transition
Elite rules are individually tailored to the trader
Basic structure of an Elite Account
Starting balance: $0
Performance rewards: up to 100% of profits can be paid out weekly
Profit split: 90/10 (90% trader / 10% firm)
Risk parameters: individual daily loss limit
Maximum drawdown: fixed
Maximum drawdown by account size
Funded Account Size | Max Drawdown Elite account |
$25,000 | $1,000 |
$50,000 | $2,000 |
$100,000 | $3,000 |
$200,000 | $3,500 |
Maximum Drawdown Allocation
Each Funded Account that has received at least one performance reward counts toward the maximum drawdown allocation of an Elite Account.
For up to five qualifying Funded Accounts, the maximum drawdown amount shown in the table above applies per account.
For qualifying Funded Accounts 6 through 10, each additional account contributes $1,000 of maximum drawdown, regardless of account size.
Example – 10 qualifying $50,000 Funded Accounts
Accounts 1–5: 5 × $2,000 = $10,000
Accounts 6–10: 5 × $1,000 = $5,000
Total Elite Account Maximum Drawdown: $15,000
Risk management in the Elite Account
The maximum position size and daily loss limit are determined individually by the risk team. These values are actively monitored and adjusted if necessary.
What happens if you lose an Elite Account?
If an Elite Account is lost, it is initially no longer possible to:
start new evaluations
open new Funded Accounts
Whether and when re-entry is possible depends on the trader’s performance in the Elite Account before the breach.
Depending on performance, the trader will receive a cooldown period, typically between 5 and 10 weeks, depending on the size of the Elite Account.
Example: Elite transition of a $50,000 Funded Account
A trader with a $50,000 Funded Account receives in the Elite model:
Starting capital: $0 balance
Maximum loss (drawdown): $2,000
Individual trading rules (position size, daily loss limit, etc.) set by the risk team
Profit distribution:
Generated profits can be paid out weekly with an 90/10 split in favor of the trader.
Example:
Profit: $1,000
Payout to trader: $900
Firm’s share: $100
After each payout, the account resets to $0 profit but retains the $2,000 maximum drawdown.
